1998 Pepsi 400 Part 1
This was the first night race at Daytona. The race was rescheduled from it’s July Fourth weekend due to wildfires.

1998 Pepsi 400 Part 2
The start of The Pepsi 400 at Daytona International Speedway in Daytona, FL.  Ricky qualified the Skittles # 36 car thirty-ninth for the injured Ernie Irvan, who will start the race, then Ricky will get back in the car.

1998 Pepsi 400 Part 3
Caution for rain on lap 13. Ricky jumps in… and takes off for the front! Restart Lap 16.

1998 Pepsi 400 Part 4
Ricky gets his first mention while driving the car… and he’s already up to 15th after the restart! Big wreck at the end of this clip.

1998 Pepsi 400 Part 5
Pit stops at Lap 33. Ricky restarts in 11th on Lap 39

1998 Pepsi 400 Part 6
Ricky up to 8th, then up to 6th!

1998 Pepsi 400 Part 7
Ricky jumps up to 4th, then finally settles into 9th.

1998 Pepsi 400 Part 8
HALFWAY! Ricky continues to drift backwards with a “loose” race car. Green flag pit stops start on Lap 92.

1998 Pepsi 400 Part 9
After pit stops, Ricky is back up to 9th. Third caution and another round of pit stops.

1998 Pepsi 400 Part 10
Ricky restarts 14th on Lap 111.

1998 Pepsi 400 Part 11
2nd rain caution of the night. Ricky restarts in 9th on lap 129.

1998 Pepsi 400 Part 12
Ricky up to 7th. Then 5th caution for the 2nd “Big One” on lap 140. Ricky pits for new tires.

1998 Pepsi 400 Part 13
Restart on Lap 148 restart 17th, jumps into the top 10, then 3rd rain caution at lap 155.

1998 Pepsi 400 Part 14
Red Flag interviews, Ricky is 9th.

1998 Pepsi 400 Part 15
Back to Yellow, Green on lap 158. Ricky finishes 8th!
