1997 Daytona 500 Part 1
The start of The Daytona 500 at Daytona International Speedway at Daytona Beach, Florida. This is Ricky’s first race for Hendrick Motorsports in the Number 25 and he starts 40th in the field.

Caution number 2 for Jimmy Spenser and Geoff Bodine. On the restart, Ricky is 16th.

Ricky continues moving forward into the Top 10. Mention also about Travis Roy, who was at the race.

Third Yellow Flag of the afternoon on Lap 90 for Ken Schrader and Steve Grissom. After pit stops are complete, Greg Sacks leads the field to the Green Flag. Ricky restarts 9th. The Yellow comes back out after a couple of laps for debris.

Ricky still in the Top 10 at Halfway, continues moving forward into second!

A cut tire forces Jeff Gordon to pit and ends up on the tail-end of the lead lap. An accident with Jeff Burton and Greg Sacks is just what Gordon needed to stay on the lead lap. Meanwhile, Ricky takes two tires and a major track-bar adjustment on his pit stop and comes out in 2nd.

Green Flag with 29 laps to go. Ricky restarts 14th.
1997 Daytona 500 Part 15 (Earnhardt Crash)
Seventh Caution. Also caught up in the crash was Ernie Irvan and Dale Jarrett. Earnhardt gets back into the car and drives back to pit road for repairs! Ricky restarts in 4th.
